What is your idea?
My idea is to create a sculpture using wire and or metal. I want to create a brain and or an abstract face structure. To bring light to the work that psychologists do everyday when working with the brain.
What about it demands more than 1 week to perform?
Being a full time behavior interventionist I do not have ample time during the week to do this sculpture and I do want to be able to make it look professional and well done.
What materials, information, data, or other resources will you need?
In regards to material I think all that I will need is wire and possible spray paint to add colors or any added touches I would like to. The resources and materials should cost about 15 dollars.
What research will you have to do?
Some research that I will do is to look up the correct anatomy of the brain and find out how to do metal work.
How would you go about executing this project?
I am going to do this over the course of many days and plan to use pliers and super glue if needed.
What potential problems do you see in achieving your goals?
Some potential problems that I may face is the metal not working in my favor or not being able to bend the metal efficiently if it is too thick.
How will you determine if your project is successful or not?
A way in which I will determine if the project is successful is if I like the ending result. I feel like I used to care if others enjoyed the piece of art I made for myself when in actuality that does not matter at all.
Do you think your Major/Career can be enhanced by thinking about Art?
I think psychology uses alot of art within, studies include art and just by looking and analyzing the human mind, art is seen.
How can Art enhance or empower your Major/Career?
Art therapy can enhance creativity and boost sertonin in people who may be struggling. I have found that by introducing clients to art and creating a creative outlet for them, they respond better to tough situations and can self regulate more efficiently.
I attached some inspiration below.
