Sarah Elgart is a choreographer and she often does this for music videos or commercials on TV. After researching her I see that she uses cloth or some sort of silk fabric in most of her choreography there for her content is art through dance. I think the meaning of her work is to show the different emotions through movement. By having the dancer show vulnerability and or strength in the dance we are able to see an emotional art form.
Camille is a French singer and on occasion an actress, but I mostly know her from the “Ratatouille” soundtrack. She has a beautiful French voice and is able to portray her emotions and feelings through her songs. Her style is mainly light for soundtracks for movies and in her own music she adds pop beats and a more lively voice.
I think Camille and Sarah both have a Flow in their work, songwriter and singers have to reach in and dig deep in order to show raw emotion through song, which Camille does. As for Sarah, she as well as her dancers seem to also play into the emotional side of the work, ensuring that they put their all into everything they produce. I have watched a few videos, and although not my style of dance, she brings a strong emotional element to her choreo that is amazing to watch
The main connection between their two different media is the emotion factor. Camille and Elgart both tell a story with their emotions as well as their dance and song.
So I am currently housesitting for my aunt about 2.5 hours away from my family and friends out in the middle of California haha so I was unable to complete the automatic drawing. I did however try to complete this on my own and found it difficult because I ended up feeling lonely and wanting to spend time with friends. Listening to music helped me to feel the rhythm of the song and lift my spirits but I still did not feel as though I could contribute anything to the activity because I couldn’t do it with a family member or friend. Sadly, I couldn’t get the dog to do it with me either haha
